Here are some of our Favorite Things to do

Of Course we LOVE Yellowstone Park! Jeff actually grew up here, and we have a deep local knowledge of what the area offers and Jeff is also a Certified Intrepertative Guide driving a giant baloon-tire snowcoach in the winter and some Step-On guiding as well. We can help you plan your day. The photos below lists some of Jeff's sample plans to help you get the most of your stay in Yellowstone. We've featured a few favorites and there's a curated list of links to the best of what there is to do in and around West Yellowstone.

SO much to do and see . . .

Yellowstone Park is huge. If all you saw of Yellowstone is what you can see from the asphalt, you will have seen (line-of-sight!) only 3% of the Park! Solitude is available for everyone, but it's definitely off the beaten path, and requres some preparation and knowledge. We can help you with all of that, (or hook you up with fishing guides, intrepretive tours, exploring over 350 miles of trails locally– just outside Yellowstone in the Gallatin and Targhee National Forests– if that's why you are here. Sometimes, however, you need a break from all of this wildness that draws visitors from around the world, so in addition to our favorite day-trip to Virginia and Nevada City, Montana, here are some of our "Can't Miss" featured local favorites. Scroll down for links to more activities than I think you could ever thought a small town could provide.

Grizzly Wolf and Otter discovery center

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a not-for-profit wildlife park and educational facility opened in 1993 that is located in West Yellowstone, Montana. It is open 365 days a year, and admission is good for two consecutive days. There's nothing more exciting than seeing wildlife in the wild, but sometimes a sure bet is just as good. These rescue animals are well provided for (One of our daughters named Kobuk in a contest for our local elementary kids) which include Grizzly Bears, Wolves and now Otters!
Address: 201 S Canyon St, West Yellowstone, MT 59758

Yellowstone Giant Screen

A film showcasing Yellowstone's spectacular scenery regularly plays on their huge screen measuring 90 feet wide and six stories high! (Did I mention 12,000 watts of stereo surround sound?) Seriously, our tiny town is lucky to have this movie theater, and they have a terrific selection of Yellowstone souvenirs and clothing. IMAX shows every hour on the hour, hollywood films in the evening. Phone: (406) 646-4100 for showtimes and details.

Museum of the Rockies

Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana. Originally affiliated with Montana State University in Bozeman, and now, also, the Smithsonian Institution, the museum is known for its paleontological collections, although these are not its sole focus. It's got a great planetarium (BTW Jeff gives starwalks on moonless summer nights.) MOR is "...recognized as one of the world's finest research and history museums and is renowned for displaying an extensive collection of dinosaur fossils, including a full-scale T. rex skeleton!" MOR is open on holidays except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. MOR delights visitors with changing exhibits from around the world, permanent indoor and outdoor regional history exhibits, planetarium shows, educational programs, insightful lectures and a museum store." Most visitors spend 2 hours visiting here.

Address: 600 W Kagy Blvd, Bozeman, MT 59717
